NWLA HEALTH & WELLNESS DIRECTORY

Are you searching for a queer/trans affirming therapist? Perhaps you're in need of medical services. We understand the need to find someone who respects and understands your gender identity and sexuality. We've put together a growing list of health resources for our queer community. If you would like to be added to our directory, please email us at queerport@gmail.com.

OPEN PATH COLLECTIVE

https://openpathcollective.org/

The Open Path Collective is a national resource that helps to connect people to affordable counseling services if you don’t have insurance or your insurance has insufficient mental health coverage. Cost per session tends to range from $30-$80. You can search for clinicians in your area and filter results by race/ethnicity of therapist, treatment modality (individual, couple, group), specific areas of concern (including sexual orientation and gender identity) among other things.

PSYCHOLOGY TODAY

https://openpathcollective.org/

This is a great starting point for finding a therapist! You can narrow down the search by your area (ie: Shreveport, LA), your insurance, concerns, and specifically hone in on therapists who are familiar with LGBTQ+ culture and topics. Queer and trans affirming therapists may or may not be queer or trans identified, but this is a common question to ask in first sessions or consultations!
