Korner Lounge to Host Annual Charity Drag Event
It's time to put on a little drag, y'all!
Clutch your pearls and open your wallets, Turnabout is back at The Korner Lounge on Saturday, March 19. It's been two years since the downtown LGBTQ+ lounge held this event (thanks COVID!), but it's time to hit the dance floor in the name of community.
"It's important for businesses to give back to the community that supports them," said Jason McDonald, owner of Korner. "The organizations that we've chosen to donate to play an integral part in supporting the LGBTQ+ community."
Turnabout, as you can probably put together, is a drag show benefitting charities and organizations within our local community. But it's not just any drag show, and these aren't your "everyday" performers. This annual event brings in local bartenders and patrons to perform throughout the evening, all while raising money for various organizations that support, uplift and help the queer community in northwest Louisiana.
This year Turnabout will be supporting The Philadelphia Center, LA Trans Advocates, PACE (People Acting for Change and Equality), Out of the Closet, Hope Connections, Hope Medical Group for Women, Renesting Project, Project Celebration, and Queerport.
Interested in attending Turnabout 2022? The Korner Lounge, 800 Louisiana Ave. in downtown Shreveport, opens at 4 pm with show time at 10:30 pm. Cover is $8 and you must be 21+ to enter.
