Blanca Del Loco to Perform Spring Concert at minicine?

Actor, singer, and songwriter Blanca Del Loco (she/they) will be performing a spring concert on April 2 at minicine?, 846 Texas Avenue in downtown Shreveport. Accompanying her will be local jazz musician, Aidan Fitzgerald (he/him).

"It truly is an amazing opportunity to come back home to perform and share with the community I grew up in all of the wonderful things I've learned throughout my career so far (and being able to be in space with a group of people since the pandemic!)," Blanca Del Loco said. "There's so much talent in Shreveport and it makes my heart full to see all of the love and support that my community has poured into me and continues to give me. As a BIPOC trans woman and performer, the amount of support I feel not only from my fellow LGBTQ community but from the community as a whole is something that's truly special."


Blanca Del Loco is a Shreveport native and is classically trained in vocal performance and musical theatre, having studied and worked with companies local the area including Shreveport Little Theater, Stage Center, and the Shreveport Opera, as well as companies in the DFW metro area and Orange County, California area. Blanca Del Loco recently trained and performed in Marfa, Texas with the Texas Tech School of Theatre and Dance, as well as going to the A1 Conference in New York City. Some favorite credits include: Guys and Dolls (Boxcar Theatricals), Godspell (CORP), For Colored Girls… (East Lubbock Art House), West Side Story (Shreveport Opera). Aside from theatre, the Shreveport native is also is an independent recording artist (music available on all streaming services).


Accompanying Blanca Del Loco is jazz musician Aidan Fitzgerald, both of whom are Queerport alums. Born in Texas, Fitzgerald has lived all across the U.S. and even spent some time in Okinawa, Japan. He plays trumpet, guitar, bass, violin, piano, percussion and sings. He started his musical journey at the age of six with the violin, playing in school orchestras until high school. He then joined the choir and was in show choir within six months. It was there he found his love of jazz and shortly after moving to Shreveport, quickly went to work integrating into the local jazz scene where he now has his own band, That Aidan Fitz Group. He also performs solo, bringing his own unique take to jazz covers and classics.
